Life Lately...

Life has been a lot different from how it used to be.  I have been at secondary school for nearly two months now.  Some days are better than others, but looking back...it's all so strange.

I went to school throughout the whole of preschool, foundation stage, up to the beginning of year 4, and that's all in one preschool and two schools.  Then I was home educated.  I loved being home educated, helping out with my little siblings was my life.  But then I became so bored all of a sudden, searching for something new to do, something different.  Mum said about secondary school, I don't think she expected me to think about and say yes.  Mum probably thought I would quickly react and shout "NO WAY!", I don't blame her.

When Mum sent the letter to school all signed off and saying I was going, I regretted my choice so badly that I started to feel like it was going to be the end of the world.  Mum sent the letter quite late so I wasn't completely sure they would have a space for me, but when they replied and said I had a space...I was gutted.  I was pretty sure something good would happen when I was there, that was partly the reason why I wanted to go in the first place, along with wanting to do something new.

For the first week I HATED school as much as you could, but now I am really enjoying it, there are some lessons that I wish didn't exist, but other than that I am alright with school.  I have made two BFFs that are just amazing and incredible and altogether lovely people.  I have also met a few people I wish I hadn't, but that's just life, isn't it?

So, to all people that are thinking about trying something new, that you wouldn't usually, I would say GO FOR IT!  You probably will regret it for a while but after that I'm pretty sure you will be glad you made the decision.  It might feel like forever, but eventually you'll get there.

Spiced Pear Cheesecake

For the last couple of days it has been so rainy, windy and cold so we haven't been able to do much.  But instead of going for walks we have been baking.  Yesterday I made a delicious Spiced Pear Cheesecake and Upside Down Cheesecake Cupcakes.  They were just too nice!  Here are some photos:

Upside Down Cheesecake Cupcakes
We called these Upside Down Cheesecake Cupcakes because we cooked them with the biscuit on the top.

They were absolutely delicious! We don't have any pictures of the Spiced Pear Cheesecake at the moment.

The Taming of the Tights: A Review by Honey

The Taming of the Tights: A Review by Honey

The Taming of the Tights is a teen book, by Louise Rennison,  about Tallulah Casey and her gang called The Tree Sisters.  All Tallulah’s friends have boyfriends but she doesn’t and the two boys she fancies are Alex and Charlie.
Tallulah has a friend called Ruby and Ruby has a pet dog called Matilda.  Tallulah, Ruby and Matilda go for walks together and like to chat about boys and stuff.
The Bottomley sisters send a threatening letter to Tallulah saying for her to get out of their sight.  There is also Cain who is always trying to ruin everything she does.
I really liked this book because some bits made me laugh out loud and not many books can do that.  But at first I didn’t really get into this story but towards the end it got better and better.  The only disappointing thing was that there was too much flirting and kissing rather than focusing on the main story line which might have made it more interesting.
I would definitely recommend this book to teenage girls who are interested in reading a lighthearted story with lots of gossip.

Disclaimer: I was sent a copy of The Taming of the Tights by Louise Rennison for the purpose of this honest review.
